New Couch

Yesterday I was chatting with the woman who was going to be picking up my old dryer. I mentioned how she was the fourth or fifth person on the list, but everyone else had not bothered to show up. She said that she understood, because she had posted a couch and twelve people had done the same to her. Twelve people!! I asked her if she still had it, and she said yes. I told her I would take it.

Our couch is trashed, and I had been on the lookout for a new (to us) replacement, because I just didn't see the point in taking the torn up, broken down couch to Mississippi.

Yesterday when she came to pick the dryer up, she delivered the couch - and a matching chair. Bonus!

The best part... it is one of those "This End Up" sets. (Don't tell anyone, but I love those things. I have always wanted one. Isn't that crazy?)

They had left it out in the rain for God knows how long, so I am off to the store to buy the stuff to refinish the wood. I just need to find someone who can recover the cushions for me.

I can't decide if I should stain it black or paint it white. Right now there are dark purple cushions, and in a perfect world I would recover them in red toile fabric. In 3 teenage boy world, I haven't figured out what fabric to use yet.

Oh, bonus #2 - I am using the Sprint gift card that we got for being referred to Sprint from my brother, so this project won't cost me a thing out of pocket!
